About Royal Chilterns Way

The spectacular route follows an off-road loop through the Chiltern Hills, blending gravel paths, forest trails, chalk tracks and quiet country lanes.

Starting in the city of Reading, you’ll pedal through royal history at Reading Abbey, the riverside of Henley-on-Thames, and many historic villages with plenty of cafes, pubs and farmshops along the way. It’s a scenic and mixed venture a stone’s throw away from London, something brand new for 2026.

The mixed terrain creates a true challenge with plenty of short and steep climbs to keep things interesting. With its mix of challenging ascents and rolling stretches, the Royal Chilterns Way is perfect for riders looking for an adventure-packed weekend and the chance to discover one of England’s most beautiful landscapes.

Ready. Set. Pedal.

Are you ready for the best adventure of your life? Here’s a couple of pointers of what to expect.
