- Easiest option, but more expensive, is John O’Groats Bike Transport. They pick up from John O’Groats and take you direct to Inverness. Works out cheapest to group together with teammates.
- Train options from Inverness across the UK including the Sleeper Train direct to London.
- Flying? International flights from Inverness or train to Edinburgh/Glasgow airports.

Lon Las Cymru
Train
- Holyhead is easy to reach by train from across the UK, with direct services from London Euston, Crewe, and Chester. If you’re coming from further afield, most routes connect via these locations.Â
Make sure to reserve a bike space when booking your ticket! - To get home, Cardiff Central offers frequent direct trains to London, Bristol, the Midlands, and beyond. Book a late train home (roughly 6pm onwards) to allow plenty of time to finish and enjoy the celebration.
Driving
- One option is to drive to the start in Holyhead, with long-stay parking available near the town and ferry terminal, and then travel back from Cardiff via train after the trip.Â
- Alternatively, you can drive to Cardiff first, park your car there for the duration of the trip, and then take a direct train to Holyhead before the start. This avoids a long transfer after the finish.
Royal Chilterns Way
Train
Getting to and from Reading is simple, with frequent direct trains from London Paddington, London Waterloo, Oxford, Bristol, and destinations across the South and Midlands.
Driving
- With the start and finish points being in Reading one option is to drive to the start and park near our host accommodation.Â
- Get in touch if you’d like help with parking options!
Bike Shipping
Rather not travel with your bike?
Why not ship your bike to a local bike shop near the start and ship it home at the end. Contact the bike shops to discuss arrangements. Suggestions include:
- Penzance – The Cycle Centre
- Inverness – John O’Groats Bike Transport (Courier Service)
- Inverness – Bikes of Inverness
- Wick – The Spot Shop
- Whitehaven – Haven Cycles
Please note we cannot transport any bike boxes, so you will need to ship any soft or hard shell boxes to the finish location of your ride. Some bike shops will allow storage of boxes so be sure to contact them.
