About the London to Brighton Bike Ride

Explore the London to Brighton Cycle Route, linking the heart of the UK capital to the coast.

The Starting Line: London’s Heart

Begin your adventure at the iconic Parliament Square. This initial phase of the ride takes you through the vibrant streets of central London, touching the pulse of the city as you pass through Oval, Stockwell, Clapham, and Tooting. It’s a rare opportunity to experience London’s on two wheels, setting the stage for the scenic transitions ahead.

Through the Countryside: Sussex Villages and the South Downs

As the urban landscape recedes, you’ll find yourself enveloped by the tranquil beauty of the English countryside. The route meanders through the idyllic Sussex villages, offering glimpses into rural life and the nature of the South Downs. This segment is a more peaceful ride through UK’s countryside, showcasing rolling hills and the verdant fields of the South East.

The Climactic Challenge: Ditchling Beacon

Approaching 48 miles into the ride, the ascent of Ditchling Beacon looms as the day’s ultimate challenge. This storied climb will test you physically and mentally, but is also a rite of passage for many cyclists. The reward at the summit is panoramic views that stretch across the lush countryside, serving as a moment of reflection and achievement before the exhilarating descent into Brighton.

The Finish Line: Brighton’s Welcoming Coast

The final stretch of the journey is a triumphant descent into the vibrant city of Brighton. Completing the ride on the bustling seafront, cyclists are greeted by the refreshing sea breeze and the lively atmosphere of this coastal gem. It’s a fitting end to a remarkable ride, symbolising the spirit of adventure and the collective effort of the cycling community in support of Bike the UK for MS.

What do I need to know about cycling London to Brighton?

Riding from London to Brighton will be one of the most rewarding one day challenges you take on, but first we know you must have lots of questions. Here’s the information you need to be able to take on the ride. Still got a question? Enquire below.

With an achievable £125 total fundraising target (or £100 total payment up front), what better way to celebrate your successes with Bike the UK for MS whilst supporting the MS community? Funds raised will go towards supporting those living with MS across the UK as well as funding research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis.

With an initial registration donation of only £25 or the option to pay £100 for the ride, the majority of trip related items are covered such as vehicle support, Route Leaders and much more. This leaves you only having to worry about travel costs to and from the trip and food during the ride.

You’ll have the opportunity to purchase a 2024 cycling jersey too!

In order to make your experience as seamless as possible, you will have two opportunities to drop kit off ahead of the ride.

First kit drop between 6:30 – 8pm on Friday 7th. If arriving on Saturday morning, kit drop will be at 7 – 7:30am before meeting at Parliament Square at 8am ready to roll out. Both kit drops will be at Park Sports Tennis Club, Regent’s Park.

Note – The support vehicles will NOT be at Parliament Square, so kit must be dropped off prior to the start.

In Brighton, there will be a location to shower and change following the ride before enjoying a celebration meal.

We will not be arranging accommodation for this ride, allowing you to make travel plans according to a schedule that best suits you.
