Our top 10 workplace fundraising ideas:
1. Coffee Morning / Global Foods Lunch
- How it works: BYO bakes/dishes, £2 – 5 suggested donation.
- Hybrid: Set up a Teams/Zoom room, remote colleagues donate + share photos.
- Accessibility: Seated, quiet, label allergens.
- Add-ons: “Manager vs Manager” bake-off vote = £1 per vote.
2. Hour-of-Pay Pledge
- Pitch: Payday appeal: “Donate 1 hour of your pay this month.”
- Comms kit: 3 message sequence (payday morning, mid-day reminder, thank-you recap).
- Match: Ask HR to match up to £250 – 500.
- Add-ons: Create a leaderboard by team/office; celebrate first 10 donors.
3. Sweepstake (Big match, Oscars, Bake Off winner)
- Setup: 20 – 30 slots, £2 per slot; prize = small hamper or glory.

Here are some quick message ideas to spread the word around your workplace!
- Coffee morning message: “Lunchtime on Thu: Coffee & bakes for Bike the UK for MS. Swing by (Room), 12:30–1:30. Donate via QR (Gift Aid adds +25%).”
- Payday “hour-of-pay” email: Subject: “Double your impact at lunch?”, Body: 3 lines: your why + QR + “Company match requested.”
- HR match-funding ask (one-liner): “Could the company match employee donations to my Bike the UK for MS fundraiser this month (e.g., up to £250)? It would double our impact.”

How will the event run?
- 0–10 mins: set up table/signage/QR, teams message or email with photo
- 10–50 mins: host, collect stories, thank donors
- 50–60 mins: quick total, share thank you message to those that came by

Things to remember
- Gift Aid nudge: “If you’re a UK taxpayer, please tick Gift Aid on our donation page! (Adds +25% at no extra cost.)”. Although Gift Aid doesn’t count towards you fundraising total, it does allow the donor to have a greater impact on the MS community.
- QR Codes: Make sure to print out QR codes to send donors to your fundraising page/donation link. Making it as easy as possible for them to donate!
- Permissions & light compliance: check venue/workplace rules, label food allergens, raffles/tombolas are fine for small private events – keep a simple record of entries/prizes, ask your workplace if a permit is needed for public collections.
- Accessibility note: offer seated/quiet options, step-free routes, captions/alt text, invite access requests in your event post.
